Permanent Secretary Appointment – 2 May 2018
Mr Lee Chuan Teck, Deputy Secretary (Land and Corporate), Ministry of Transport (MOT) will be appointed Second Permanent Secretary (Trade and Industry) on 1 June 2018. Mr Png Cheong Boon will relinquish his appointment as Second Permanent Secretary (Trade and Industry) on the same date, to focus on his role as Chief Executive Officer, Enterprise Singapore. Mr Png continues to be a member of the Committee of Permanent Secretaries.

**Mr Lee Chuan Teck (李全德)**
Mr Lee, 50, joined the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in 1992. He held various appointments in MAS, including Executive Director (Reserve and Monetary Management) and Assistant Managing Director (Markets and Investment). He held the appointment of Assistant Managing Director (Capital Markets Group) at MAS before his secondment to the Civil Service as Deputy Secretary (Land and Corporate), Ministry of Transport in April 2014.
**Mr Png Cheong Boon (方章文)**
Mr Png, an EDB-Glaxo scholar, joined the Economic Development Board (EDB) in 1993. Mr Png held various appointments in EDB, including over six years in EDB’s operations in the United States. His last appointment in EDB was Regional Director for Central United States based in Chicago. Mr Png was Deputy Chief Executive, SPRING Singapore from 2003 to 2008, and Chief Executive, SPRING Singapore from 2008 to 2013. He was Chief Executive Officer, Jurong Town Corporation from 2013 till his appointment as Second Permanent Secretary (Trade and Industry) in June 2017.
