Mr Zainal Sapari: To ask the Prime Minister if he will give a breakdown by Ministry and statutory board of (i) their respective numbers of Division 3 and Division 4 employees; (ii) the age profiles of their respective Division 3 and Division 4 employees; (iii) their respective numbers of Division 3 and Division 4 employees earning gross monthly wages in the wage bands of $1,000 or less, $1,001 to $1,400, $1,401 to $1,700, $1,701 to $2,000, and $2,000 and above.

As at 31 December 2011, there were 15,297 Division 3 and Division 4 officers in the Ministries and Statutory Boards, of whom 53 per cent were in Ministries and 47 per cent were in statutory boards. Of the 15,297 officers, 12,366 were Division 3 officers and 2,931 were Division 4 officers.
The median age band for Division 3 officers in the Ministries and Statutory Boards were 30 - 34 years and 45 - 49 years respectively. The median age band for Division 4 officers was 50 - 54 years for both Ministries and Statutory Boards.
53 per cent of the Division 3 officers were drawing gross monthly salaries of above $2,000 and another 23 per cent were in the $1,701 - $2,000 salary band. 73 per cent of the Division 4 officers were drawing gross monthly salaries of $1,001 - $1,400, and another 16 per cent were drawing monthly salaries above this level.
