CHANGES IN PERMANENT SECRETARY APPOINTMENTS
Ms Lai Wei Lin will be appointed as Permanent Secretary (Health) (designate) with effect from 1 July 2024 and relinquish her appointments as Permanent Secretary (Transport Development) and Second Permanent Secretary (Finance) on the same date. She will be appointed as Permanent Secretary (Health) with effect from 15 July 2024.
2. Mr Chan Yeng Kit will relinquish his appointment as Permanent Secretary (Health) and be seconded to SPH Media as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 15 July 2024.

Ms Lai Wei Lin, 48, held various appointments in the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI), Ministry of National Development and the Civil Service College, before joining the Ministry of Health as a Director in 2009 and appointed as its Deputy Secretary (Policy) in 2015. She was subsequently appointed as Deputy Secretary (Policy), Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2017. She served as Second Permanent Secretary (Education) from 2019 till 2021, and concurrently as Permanent Secretary (Law) from 2020 till 2022. In 2022, she was appointed as Permanent Secretary (Transport Development) and concurrently as Second Permanent Secretary (Finance).
Mr Chan Yeng Kit (陈英杰)
4. Mr Chan Yeng Kit, 59, served in various appointments in the Public Service Division, MTI, Ministry of Defence and MOE. He was seconded to the National Trades Union Congress from 1991 to 1993 and to the Suzhou Industrial Township Development from 1993 to 1994. Mr Chan was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the then-InfoComm Development Authority of Singapore in 2005 and Permanent Secretary of the former Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts in 2008. He was appointed as Permanent Secretary (Defence Development) in 2012 and subsequently as Permanent Secretary (Defence) in 2013. He has served as Permanent Secretary (Health) since 2019.
